Despite challenges and fierce competition with other new
hotels offering significant discounts to attract market share,
Grand Hyatt Jakarta completed the year with an occupancy rate
of 60.8% increase from 50.3% in 2006. The average room rate
in 2007 rose to US$ 140.91 from US$ 133.15 in 2006.
The hotel’s Total Revenue rose to US$ 30,878,996 in 2007
from US$ 26,140,849 in 2006. This was mainly due to higher
revenues achieved in all revenues departments. A Gross
Operating Profit of US$ 8,831,607 was achieved, increase
21.1% from US$ 7,291,777 in 2006.
Grand Hyatt Jakarta was the hotel of choice by many
foreign dignitaries during a number of high-profile and
important international events which took place in Jakarta
in 2007. Several world leaders and chief foreign officials on
state visits to Indonesia also stayed in the hotel during the
year. These international events and state visits, combined
with the increased number of business travelers, has
enhanced Grand Hyatt’s room performance during the year.

in 2007, including the refurbishment of Grand Cafe,
Lamoda Cafe, Reception and Concierge desk. In 2008,
the hotel plans to add one additional, luxurious 2-Bedroom
Suite on level 5 and a new lounge and more
meeting rooms on level 23. The hotel will undertake further
renovation works, including the Fountain Lounge and
Grand Club Lounge.
